The driver of a vehicle that left the road and crashed near the Deep Bay turnoff on Fogo Island has been arrested as police wait to see whether impaired driving charges will be laid.
Police responded to the scene around 4:00 a.m. Thursday.
The 64-year-old driver, who was still behind the wheel when officers arrived, was taken to hospital for treatment of minor injuries.
A blood sample was taken and police are awaiting the results to see if an impaired driving charge is warranted.
The man’s licence was suspended and his vehicle was towed from the scene and impounded.
