A fundraiser is planned in Trinity this summer to honour the life of a local firefighter while raising money for the volunteer fire department.
The Gander cast of Come From Away will join local artists on stage at Rising Tide Theatre in Trinity for the Ignite and Unite benefit concert.
Fifty-nine-year-old David Michael Marlow passed away in 2022 as the result of a crash while responding to an emergency.
The concert is planned to honour Marlow’s life and dedicated service, while raising funds for a new fire truck to replace the one that was lost in the crash.
Randy King of the St. John’s Regional Fire Department, who is also a volunteer firefighter in Trinity, came up with the idea
King says he was brainstorming how to get the fire department the resources it needed when he came up with the idea for the show.
Petrina Bromley, who is part of the original Broadway cast of Come From Away, will perform alongside Shelley Neville and Peter Halley – members of Come From Away’s Gander cast.
The show is scheduled for Sunday, July 27 at 7:30pm. Tickets can be bought through Rising Tide Theatre in Trinity.
