The Opposition is raising questions about those selected by government to form a committee to oversee renewed Churchill Falls negotiations.
The committee includes Julia Mullaley, who previously served as Chair of the Muskrat Falls Oversight Committee, and who held senior public service positions.
The Liberals argue that Mullaley would have been directly involved in decisions related to the Muskrat Falls project, its sanctioning and early construction.
The other members include Dan Levert and Mike Jardine.
Energy critic Fred Hutton says while all three are experienced, “what is notably absent is expertise in energy markets, regulation and contract negotiation.”
Leader John Hogan says the appointment reinforces his party’s concerns that government is relying “on many of the same individuals and perspectives that were involved the in the Muskrat Falls project.”
