A local Instagram account is getting plenty of attention for highlighting the stories behind different neighbourhood bars.
Newfoundland Dive Bars was created by Brian Ozon and Jillian Morgan after seeing something similar being done in New Brunswick.
Videos on the account highlight what the business is like and some of the history behind it.
Morgan believes a lot of people have a negative perception about what a dive bar is.
“They think it means it is sketchy or rough around the edges, but you kind of have to see the beauty in that. They’re really unpretentious and it’s…. come-as-you-are and is a really welcoming environment.”
