The provincial government is seeking public feedback on potential changes to the Highway Traffic Act to address the use of e-bikes, e-scooters and other micro-mobility devices.
A new report by the Canadian Pediatric Surveillance Program released this week shows that ten children died from accidents involving e-bikes or e-scooters in Canada last year.
The province is also looking at possible changes governing car and booster seats for children, bicycle safety and driving schools.
The deadline for feedback is Thursday, September 3rd.
Legislative amendments are expected to be introduced in the House of Assembly this fall.
Minister Mike Goosney will address the matter this afternoon at 1:30. VOCM News will be there.
