It’s a staple to the supper table in this province and Lester’s Farm Market in St. John’s is overflowing with them.
The potato fields have been plentiful this year – largely due to a cooler and wetter summer in the metro region.
Part-owner at Lester’s Farm Market on Brookfield Road, Chris Lester, says last year, it was tough to find a potato the size of a golf ball.

Lester says this year’s potatoes are huge and of great quality. They have so many they’ve decided to drop their prices to levels not seen in years.
