The much-anticipated Netflix series ‘Below’ which was shot in this province last year is finally available.
The executive director of PictureNL, Laura Churchill, was among those who attended special screenings of the first two episodes – one at the Toronto International Film Festival and one at home in St. John’s.

She says there was a notable difference in the two screening experiences.
Churchill says while watching the episode with a hometown crowd, there were “nuances, and the authenticity of the show really shines through, so you get a little more of the inside jokes.” Watching it with the Toronto festival audience, meanwhile, really highlighted how important it was to “introduce Newfoundland and Labrador to a global audience in that way.”
