One union representing health care workers says it’s not happy with the results of a Core Staffing Review of the health care system.
CUPE says NLHS and the provincial government released parts of the review earlier this week, which outlined steps to address a major shortage of health care workers across the province.
CUPE President Sherry Hillier says they’re “deeply concerned” over some of the proposed changes, which include expanded duties for workers “who are already stretched thin.”
She says adding more duties to their workload will not solve the issue and will lead to further burnout.
It’s not clear when the full report will be released to the public.
