The loss of two doctors – one of them suddenly – from the same medical clinic on the northeast Avalon has patients concerned about where to turn for primary medical attention.
Dr. Collis recently retired from the Torbay Medical Clinic but Dr. Hall disappeared two weeks ago after last being seen in the area of Marine Drive in Pouch Cove.
Area MHA and cabinet minister Joedy Wall says he appreciates the worry that people experience when they are without a primary care provider, but assures that government and Newfoundland and Labrador Health Services are working to explore options to support patients.
He says anyone who has lost their GP should register on Patient Connect NL, which is the provincial registry for those who do not have a family doctor or nurse practitioner.
In the interim, options include Teledoc virtual care (1-877-278-7417,) the walk-in clinic on Topsail Road (777-1706,) and the Urgent Care Centre on Stavanger Drive.
