More affordability measures are set to come in the next few days, but exactly what will come down is still unknown.
Finance Minister Craig Pardy has announced about $79-million over the past week, with money to help with home heating and gasoline.
Pardy says the next measure will be more “targeted,” and be at least another $20 million.
“We have two more (announcements) coming that are, I think, substantive. So I think when you add that on to what the 79 (million) that we’re talking about, we’re up there in excess of 100 million that will come out in this envelope,” he told reporters.
“Keep in mind, that is something that is fluid, that next month, the month after, we get to re-evaluate what we got.”
Government is currently using an 80-20 model to cover its debts, but Pardy says the number could drop to as low as 16 per cent if its windfall continues.
