The provincial government says the PC caucus is united on the new deal reached with Quebec on Churchills Falls.
Premier Tony Wakeham last week indicated that while the final definitive agreements will be brought before the House of Assembly for debate, there won’t be a vote.
Opposition Leader John Hogan questioned whether all government members are entirely comfortable with the deal reached.
“Is the premier afraid to bring the final agreements to the House before they’re signed because he knows the public does not support his deal, and bringing them back could lead to another member leaving his caucus?” Hogan asked.
Energy Minister Lloyd Parrott denied any suggestion of disagreement within caucus.
“This Premier is not afraid of anything” Parrott responded. “I tell you what, I for one and everyone in this caucus, he has our full support.”
