A man and woman who were arrested in a police operation in Cartwright yesterday appeared in court today on a number of charges.
The search for the pair began on Tuesday after police in Happy Valley-Goose Bay attempted to pull over a pickup containing 24-year-old Petapen Hurley who had a warrant out for her arrest.
The driver, 36-year-old Samuel (Craig) Blake refused to stop, and instead, sped away.
The following day, an officer and police dog located the pair at a business in Happy Valley-Goose Bay. RCMP say Blake attempted to strike the police vehicle before fleeing the scene.
A warrant was issued for his arrest and the pair and suspect vehicle were tracked to Cartwright where a large number of officers from throughout the region responded.
The pair was taken into custody without incident and brought back to Goose Bay for a court appearance today.
