The details on next month’s debate in the House of Assembly are being worked on, but Premier Tony Wakeham says he’s hoping to line up a series of experts for a “full and wholesome debate” on a deal reached between this province and Quebec on replacing the 1969 Churchill Falls contract.
The two opposition parties are calling for transparency, and want to see a host of experts available to allow MHAs to ask whatever questions they have.
Four days had been set aside for debate on the 2024 MOU.
Premier Wakeham says those details are currently being hammered out.
“The rules of that debate will be worked out between the house leaders and the House of Assembly and that work is ongoing as we speak.”
