NLHS says its June Holiday phishing exercise had “good intentions,” but the health authority is not yet ready to share the details of its investigation into the incident which raised the ire of workers and their unions.
The email was sent as part of an internal cybersecurity test, inviting employees to “submit” a request for a “June Holiday” – an extra paid day off in recognition of their commitment and professionalism during the implementation of CorCare.
The authority vowed to complete an investigation within two weeks – that was more than two months ago.
NL Health Services CEO Ron Johnson says they’re still reviewing the details, but learning from their mistakes.
“We’ve learned from that, and obviously it tells us something else about the organization. The organization is under pressure. This has been a very busy year implementing CorCare and the demands on the system so we’re going to work on the culture of the organization.”
