Two men were arrested and charged after someone attempted to steal an off-road vehicle in Cape Broyle on Tuesday.
RCMP from the Holyrood and Ferryland detachments responded when the surveillance camera at a home on Horsechops Road caught someone trying to start their ATV.
Two suspects were arrested a short time later.
RCMP say one of them , 43-year-old Brett Lepore of St. John’s, who was in violation of court-imposed conditions, gave officers a false name.
Lepore and 46-year-old Brad Dermot O’Toole were held in custody and charged with theft. Lepore faces additional charges of obstruction and two counts of failure to comply with a release order.
Police say more charges are possible.
