An actress who some may recognize as the ‘Old Hag’ in the Netflix series Below, makes her directorial debut this evening at the St. John’s International Women’s Film Festival.
Marthe Bernard’s short film ‘Margot’ will hit the big screen Friday night at The Majestic.
The film is about a couple who go on a vacation when one of their ex’s shows up.
Bernard says she really wanted to work with the three actors who star in the film, and she also wanted to film it in her childhood cabin near Trinity Bay.
The cabin didn’t even have electricity, so she says it was a very cozy experience all around. She says they had to use battery operated lights, and a generator to bring the film to life.
“We had this tiny little crew packed into this small cabin with the woodstove going to keep us warm.”
She says it was a very fun shoot to do for her first time directing.
