Some people may have been up to no good when preparing their Halloween treats yesterday.
RCMP in Happy Valley-Goose Bay have received three reports of small metal items being found in treat-sized Coffee Crisp bars collected during trick or treating last night.
They’re investigating to determine where the treats were collected and ask anybody who identifies a similar candy to contact them 709-896-3383 or 1-800-709-RCMP (7267.)
Police say adults and other trusted persons in the household should check treats thoroughly to ensure they are safe to eat. That means looking for signs of tampering as well as manufacturing defects and making sure that the packaging is intact and that the treats are a recognizable trusted commercial brand.
Anyone who notices something suspicious should contact police.
