It wasn’t without its adventurous moments, but police finally nabbed a man suspected of doing all he could to escape their clutches.
RNC flashed the lights on a vehicle in the area of Columbus Drive at about 10:20 last night but the man behind the wheel chose defiance instead of compliance. Officers abandoned the pursuit in the interest of public safety, but later located the vehicle and deployed a spike belt. The driver then struck two police vehicles before his wheels gave out on Blackmarsh Road.
The 42-year-old faces numerous charges including drunk driving and being behind the wheel when prohibited from doing so.
